Desk

This desk is inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. The one I made is the first picture, the original on Pinterest is below it.
My Desk

Nice #microscale #LEGO #minifig work space.
The one I saw on Pinterest
As you can see, there are noticeable differences. The color, for instance. The Pinterest one has a keyboard and mouse. The computer and lamp are different. And the chair. And the desk. Well, I did say it was inspired by the pin. Anyway, how to build it...
First, I built a base and wall. In the original pin, it was just large enough to accommodate the desk. I chose to make mine a little larger.
First arrange four 1x2 bricks and two 1x3 bricks as shown. You could also use two stacked 2x2  bricks for the left, It just depends on which pieces you have.
Now add four headlight bricks.
Put two jumper plates on the headlight bricks for drawers on the front of the desk.

Now for the top of the desk. Take a 3x3 plate and place on top of it two 1x6 tiles and a 1x3 tile as shown below.
Put it on the desk. The 3x3 plate should be over the part where the legs would go. Now, in the gaps add a 1x1 plate and a jumper plate. These will hold the lamp and computer.
Now to build the computer. Take a 1x4 plate, a hinge brick and two headlight bricks. Assemble as seen below. Then add a 2x2 tile with a design on the hinge brick. Put slanted grilles on the headlight bricks for speakers.
Attach it at an angle to the jumper plate. On the original desk, they had a printed 1x2 tile that looked like a keyboard and a 1x1 round plate for a mouse. I saw another idea to use the base of a lever for a mouse. Also, the tile they used for the screen was printed to look like the person on the computer was using Paint.

Now the lamp. You.ll need a faucet, a transparent yellow 1x1 round plate, a megaphone-like piece and that weird arm piece that is slightly bent and has clips on the ends. Clip the arm thing to the faucet and the megaphone and stick the yellow plate in the megaphone.
Like this:
Attach it to the 1x1 plate on the desk top. To make the chair, get a car seat, a 1x1 cone and a 1x1 round plate. stack them up, plate on the bottom, then cone, then chair. Ta-da! Your minifigure has a complete workspace!
Here is the complete list of parts if you are interested in building it:

LEGO Desk Pieces
  • 4 1x1 bricks
  • 2 1x3 bricks
  • 3x3 plate
  • 3 jumper plates
  • 1 faucet
  • 1 car seat
  • 2 1x1 round plates (One transparent yellow)
  • 2 1x6 tiles
  • 1 1x3 tile
  • 1 1x1 plate
  • 2 1x2 slanted grilles
  • 1x4 plate
  • 1 hinge brick
  • 1 2x2 tile with design
  • 1 megaphone
  • 1 weird-arm-piece-slightly-bent-with-clips-on-each-end
As for colors, the pieces for the lamp are best in light gray. Any colors could be used. From the pictures, you get an idea of the color scheme needed. You wouldn't want two different colored jumper plates, or two different colored slanted grilles.
(I have just been informed that the weird piece is called a bent droid arm. I was close, okay.)
